The famous maglia rosa. The jersey of the Giro D'Italia. This fabled jersey was first introduced in 1931 to make the race leader easier to identify in the peloton by race officials and roadside fans. The colour pink chosen as that was the paper colour of the Giro's founder and organiser, La Gazzetta dello Sport. Learco Guerra pulled on the first maglia rosa on 10th May 1931 after winning the opening stage from Milan to Mantova. Now an iconic symbol of cycling, and a much coveted prize for cyclists through the decades. Our tee commemorates the 90th anniversary of La Maglia Rosa. The logo emphasises the history of the jersey, split to show the wide collared woollen jersey of bygone days on the left, and the aero race tight lycra jersey of modern times on the right.
